VIVID SYDNEY 2013

Our evening started with a lovely meal at the Jet Cafe in the Queen Victoria Building before walking down towards the wharf area to view the Vivid Sydney light displays.
As we neared a lane - Angel Way.   I was intrigued by what looked like bird cages hanging at the end of the alley.  Yes they were cages, no birds, and a cute restaurant underneath.
We turned left into Ash Lane and came across a lovely restaurant, which we promptly declared would be our next eating out experience - Felix Bistro.  At the end of Ash Lane, to our left, and up lovely wide black staircase is the famous nightclub - The Ivy.
With the infamous record of being the most violent venue in Australia.

Our first light installation.
Traffic cones attached with plastic ties - glowing with the occasional puff of smoke.
Julia's expression and my subject placement make this photo a keeper.

Light tunnel, Percy right.

Poor photo, but Julia loved these flowers, they would shake and make a rustling sound.

The Museum of Modern Art
This was a favourite display this year. The light show went for many minutes with a variety of patterns, designs, and actions all set to music.  Lovely.

Quite different displays on the Opera House.
These are referencing Pin Ball Machines.

This light wall was controlled by children on see-saws (teeter totters).
One light installation was controlled by hitting a large drum. I couldn't resist. Julia promptly told me to get off !  It was fun though.  I thanked the children standing in line waiting for their turn -  tee hee.

More Opera House shots.
We picked our night carefully.  Lovely clear skies and not cold.

We were searching for cake and coffee.  I was quite intrigued with this woman.
Her attention to detail was amazing.
