OH HENRY...
Henry is that frost or snow on the ground behind you?
Brrr... Tassie weather
Growing into such a sweet boy. Good job Lu and Sam!
Big Brother Peter...
Thank you Loris for taking this photo, very special.
On my way to Gladstone airport I received word that my flight had changed. So... this allowed us more time to spend together before I headed back to Sydney and Peter and Loris returned to Creswick, Victoria.
We stopped at what once was the reservoir for the Gladstone area to take a stroll.
Given all that has happened over the past few months, I cherish the time I was able to spend with Tim and Peter. The years melted away, we were back in Kingston Beach, recalling names and events, happenings and issues. Our life was simple, imperfect; we grew up in a most wonderful place; family ties were strong; and the world did not feel huge and threatening. All three of us drifted away from Tassie, but Tassie will always be Home and Kingston Beach our touchstone.

In Memory of Tim
At peace now, Tim.
Tim's Thanksgiving Service was held at the
Boyne Island - Tannum Sands Crematorium,
a most beautiful setting.
A modern style building positioned on a bend in the Boyne Island River.
The canter levered roof floated above a wall of floor to 15 ft ceiling windows.
The view was stunning. A grassy slope down to the waters edge showed a post and rail fence holding back the native bush land.
Fish were jumping, cormorants were sunning themselves on what Tim would have said was a glorious Queensland day.
40+ people attended the service. Work associates of Tim mostly. His neighbours and friends Tim and Nicola, both also nurses at the Gladstone Hospital. A very caring, giving family. Tim's boss, Glen, spoke with anecdotes from their work life together, remembering how much Tim had loved music, country Australian style. Referring to a friendly battle Tim and a fellow work mate had as to who's style of music was better. This done by them both turning up the sound on their computers until the other gave in.
Peter and I spoke on our lives growing up in Kingston Beach, Tasmania. How Tim was a snappy dresser, always in the latest styles. His love of fort building in the bush around Kingston, always outdoors as most kids of that era.
His move to Gladstone in search of providoring work. Re marriage to Carol and their life in Tannum Sands building their wonderful garden. Tim moving to Boyne Island to re-start his life with his 2, soon to be 3 cats. Tim loved his cats, and they were very forgiving of his long work hours.
I thanked Peter for being with Tim over those many weeks. Tim's last weeks would have been very different if not for Peter.
I feel Tim is still here. So glad he is no longer in pain.
The day will come when I will know it's just Peter and I, but not yet.

VIVID SYDNEY 2013
Our evening started with a lovely meal at the Jet Cafe in the Queen Victoria Building before walking down towards the wharf area to view the Vivid Sydney light displays.
As we neared a lane - Angel Way. I was intrigued by what looked like bird cages hanging at the end of the alley. Yes they were cages, no birds, and a cute restaurant underneath.
We turned left into Ash Lane and came across a lovely restaurant, which we promptly declared would be our next eating out experience - Felix Bistro. At the end of Ash Lane, to our left, and up lovely wide black staircase is the famous nightclub - The Ivy.
With the infamous record of being the most violent venue in Australia.
Our first light installation.
Traffic cones attached with plastic ties - glowing with the occasional puff of smoke.
Julia's expression and my subject placement make this photo a keeper.
Light tunnel, Percy right.
Poor photo, but Julia loved these flowers, they would shake and make a rustling sound.
The Museum of Modern Art
This was a favourite display this year. The light show went for many minutes with a variety of patterns, designs, and actions all set to music. Lovely.
Quite different displays on the Opera House.
These are referencing Pin Ball Machines.
This light wall was controlled by children on see-saws (teeter totters).
One light installation was controlled by hitting a large drum. I couldn't resist. Julia promptly told me to get off ! It was fun though. I thanked the children standing in line waiting for their turn - tee hee.
More Opera House shots.
We picked our night carefully. Lovely clear skies and not cold.
We were searching for cake and coffee. I was quite intrigued with this woman.
Her attention to detail was amazing.

Off To The Ball...
Julia off to the Arts and Drama Societies Blitz Ball held at Sydney Uni.
Hence the Victory rolls in her hair.
I must say I'm quite pleased at the result.
2 1/2 hours to straighten Julia's hair.
Then lots of hairspray, lots of hairspray and pins in this creation.
How long is your hair, Julia, when it is straight, lucky gal!
