In the past three no make that four winters here in Sydney we have found August to be
the coldest by far. Where we are, on the north shore, there are no frost, just very chilly nights and brisk starts to the day. Our winter has been very dry thus far, though I'm sure spring will bring many showers.
Duncan and Julia are in the middle of their year 12 exam trials. Cheese and chalk, Julia pawing the books, checking and re-checking; Duncan taking things in his stride, relying on his very good memory to pull him through. I'm exhausted, pushing one, calming the other. Phew....
August in Henry's birthday month. 2 years old. He is growing into such a sweet little boy.
Toby and Poppy have had their fair share of colds, as have Henry, this winter. I am looking forward to catching up with my boys and their families at the end of the month.
August and September mark the start of open days at Sydney University, University of Technology Sydney and Macquarie University. University applications and then the long wait for exam results.
Percy and I are managing to keep one step ahead of our young ones. Work, tennis, and thinking about fishing keep Percy going. My work hours have increased, I'm still searching a way to find friends, crafting a little and, thankfully, can report my health is improving.
All in all life is pretty good. As Loca the Pug would say,
"I luv me life, I luv me house, I luv me family,
but the thing that's more important is my family luv me."
