Henry at The Hamilton Show

Look at you Henry.

A walk down memory lane:

Grandad Max would be so proud, being an agricultural machinery salesman an' all. When I was growing up the Hobart Show was a huge event in our household. Dad would be preparing weeks, if not months in advance for The Show. Websters & Woolgrowers would have a large pavilion, displaying what was new and improved in the farming world as well as providing a peaceful res bit for weary farmers and their families by serving a lovely afternoon tea. The pressure for mum to arrive in good time, after a long bus trip followed by a train trip to the showground, kids in tow, all on Peoples Day public holiday was immense. I would try and keep out of dads way while he talked to clients and contented myself with climbing over all the new tractors. Peter and Tim would disappear, not to be seen again until home time.

My highlights were the show bags, and seeing dad in a white duster coat atop a tractor ready to drive in the grand parade.

Hey you may laugh, but this was a huge event in the Cooper household during the '60's, huge!

That was self indulgent, not apologising, a little walk down memory lane is good for one.

Foxy Loxy Henry......

Precious, precious moments

I look back and think, I should have let my kids dress up more often.

Whats wrong with going to the shop dressed as a princess or superman....NOTHING

Life is too short, make memories.

Foxy Loxy....by Lu Vince

Wonderful fox costume made by dear daughter-in-law Lucy.

I can just see Henry wearing this costume lost in his imagination as a fun fox.

What a great mum you are, Lu.

Look how fast they grow....

Sam and Henry on Mt Wellington, brr.... Cousins come to play with Henry, fun....

So wonderful to see the cousins together. Toby you are so tall, love your Spider Man shirt.

Looks like Poppy and Henry are planning some fun in the hall cupboard.

The Hansen Brothers Come to Town

This is becoming an annual event. Greg, Kaylene, John and Carol catch up while attended the Gift Fair in Sydney.

Pity our waiter couldn't spare the time to help with this photo. Big pity! My nose, chin, oh heck what an awful shot and poor Percy just enough to prove he was there.

Still we had a great night.

We are helping the Hansens to make their way thru all the Cockle Bay restaurants

As Summer Leaves Us

Duncan and Julia have settled into their new school year. (yr 12)

Holidays are over, the new year underway and autumn is knocking at our doors.
Our wonderful stay in Tasmania behind us.

Busy, but fun NZ trip documented in far too many photos for this little blog, still I think I covered all the major happenings. Good memories.

A Sydney autumn is a slow, sly change. Only noticed by a slight chill in the air, shortening of the days, then, as if by surprise you notice 'Oh - that tree is turning yellow.'

Mostly it's a stillness.

So different to many of the autumns we have experienced in different areas of the world.

How is your autumn?

Beautiful Coastline

On one of the few sunny days that Sydney has experienced this summer the Clarks headed to a favourite beach, Palm Beach.

This is a shot taken from the car, heading home, while stuck in traffic.

Of course we and half of NSW decided to head to the northern beaches this lazy Sunday, somehow we all decided to head home at around the same time, hence the traffic gridlock.

But oh doesn't the coastline look spectacular ?
